Get involved

There are more than 17,000 people living in Australia with head and neck cancer and nearly 5,000 people are newly diagnosed with head and neck cancer each year.

Being diagnosed with head and neck cancer has a profound effect on a person and their family and friends.
Head and neck cancer can affect your identity unlike any other cancer. It’s a cancer that you see in the mirror. It’s a cancer that you see in the behaviour of the person sitting next to you on the bus. While many people survive the disease, the cancer can strip away a person's voice, distort their face and take away basic abilities such as eating, drinking and swallowing.

By supporting Beyond Five you will be helping us to provide access to information and support to everyone affected by head and neck cancer in communities right across Australia.

Beyond Five currently receives no government funding and relies on public donations and corporate support to fund our activities.Your involvement, no matter how big or small, will help make the lives of families experiencing head and neck cancer that little bit easier.

If you have any questions or require further information, please contact Beyond Five by calling 02 8598 8514 or email contact@beyondfive.org.au.

Share your story
Sharing your head and neck cancer experience can provide comfort and courage to others.

Real life stories may encourage people to:

  • Get symptoms checked by their GP
  • Provide hope and support to people who may be going through a difficult time
  • Highlight the importance of early detection and symptoms to look out for

Personal stories also help Beyond Five engage with the public and may encourage someone to make a donation or take part in a fundraising event.
